Cluin,
Is the last item in your posting (two above) the "Village Blacksmith"?
Beneath the spreading chestnut tree
The village blacksmith sat
Amusing himself, abusing himself
An making a cunt with his hat
This is another one that I have only heard as a recitation, and as far as I'm aware that's all there is to it.
I wonder if the people that get upset by this type of material have ever spent time in the services under sometimes some very dificult/dangerous situations as it seems to be that that is where most of this material has the longest/strongest tradition. Laughter even at very tasteless and crude entertainment is very often a safety valve.
I'm not looking for excuses for finding this type of material amusing and anything that brings a smile to my face is welcome.
Like it or not it is definitely in the folk tradition.
Here's to an unlaced sense of humour.
