Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Ship Building Men; Harry Robertson.
G'day BrannO,

My original Joy Durst Collection is a set of loose leaves ... but came in dark green, cloth-bound book with a sort of "toggling-action binder', rather than a simple "spring" arrangement. It was a long time back, and I seem to remember that binder was part of the package - although it does not have anything printed on it. I presume it was just bought in as a suitable holder for the (Gestetner-printed ... ?) sheets.

It's been bloody handy, over the years, because I can just pop out whatever song is needed / requested ... and run off a good quality photocopy. (Taking a 'traditional folkie' attitude to copyright on most of the material ... a far proportion of which is directly lifted from Singabout / BMC sources - without attribution - anyway. As far as genuine copyright material goes, like Harry's fine songs, I have preferred to give people a copy of a published source - making sure the ownership is clear - and hope they'll sing it, which is what Harry would want. If they do go off and record it ... well, they'll know who should get the royalties!)

Regards,

Bob
