So, you are suggesting to let the kids go without?

They're going without now, every hour, every day, every year. And your "meantime" has now been over twenty-five years, at least. Several generations have already gone without.

As long as people like yourself are willing to absolve govt. from its responsibility to adequately fund public (that's U.S. style 'public, not UK 'public') education nothing is going to change, and the kids will continue getting screwed. Its not "government help" - a gift out of the kindness of their hearts. Its their damn responsibility.
