Al O'Donnell is a fine banjo player , guitarist and singer, both of his albums are gems. I think he first became known in the Nottingham area, where, I again think, he went to university .I often saw him him play in the 60s or70s and was always impressed.One of his contemporarys in Notts was another fine singer/songwriter called Spike Woods. Both of them seem to have gone from the scene, a great loss.
