Thread Name: Oy, do I have a migraine!
Subject: RE: Oy, do I have a migraine!
Another migrane sufferer here also, but I have found since I've got older, I now usually only get get the visual affects and not the excruciating "will some one chop the top of my head off with a sharp axe...pleeease?" pain associated with it. As an aside, I have noted that alka seltzer (oh gawd, am I using a copyrighted name? sorry) is still fizzing one half hour after you vomit it up. I have been the usual dietary routes over the years, with the doctor, to see if my migranes are the result of food allergies, but mine do not seem to be associated with diet. The ones I have now seem to be associated with weather changes particularly in the spring and fall and when I was younger always associated with stress (or as mentioned previously when the stress was over). I had a doctor once, who, upon making a house call (unusual) and noting the state of my apartment and the fact that I was crying, suggested that if I just tidied up my place and did my laundry I would feel much better. I remember driving to my mother's that day with a laundry basket full of dirty laundry and having to stop at various points on the highway to hang my head out the door. Never went back to that doctor. I now take two tylenols with caffiene and codiene whenever I start to get visual distortions, as a precaution, because I hate pain.
