It can be done. If the concept offends you, then call it Tet or whatever. Anyway, there is a great need there for almost everything and a major is collecting stuff..only have to mail to a US address if you are in US. (I don't advise people from oversees mailing here).

Address is

Dean Perez, Major, Infantry
Adjustant 2nd Brigade EIG
76th Infantry BCT
Camp Phoenix
APO AE 09356

He is collecting both for the troops and local children. Troops could use books and videos; used are fine. Kids need clothes, including baby clothes. Mittens, socks, etc. Freezing cold there. One orphanage I read about had shoes in only two sizes for the kids. I don't know about toys...some might not be culturally approved, like dolls and picture books because if they are Muslim I think they have rules about images..so perhaps someone could educate us...but sporting goods should be OK. I am sending Nerf balls. School supplies should be OK. No toy guns, swords etc.

So let's have this as a goal to immediately send any unneeded Christmas presents straight over if you think they can be used..likewise some other items.
