Allison...have just come upon this thread and send my thoughts and well wishes to both you and your Mom. What a rotten time to be stuck in a nursing home for 6 weeks, but she sounds like a strong, resilient woman, and the rest, recouperation and good PT is the best thing to get her back on her feet and independent again.
