Thread Name: Lyr Req: On the Front Porch (from Burl Ives)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Front Porch sung by Burl Ives
Believe it or not, most Disney songs are fairly complicated, at least from my point of view. I'm an amatuer (in every sense of the word) Ukulele player, and "On the Front Porch" is right up my alley.

There's tons of transition chords, just like every other Disney tune, like E-flat, B-flat, Dm7, Cm6, C#dim7, and such, but you can get by with 3 or 4 basics. Here's how I play it:

(C7)          F
All I want to do
                D7
When the day is through
          G7
Is linger here on the front porch With you
                C7
From the wicker swing
                      Dm
While the night birds sing
                G7
We'll watch the fireflies sparkin'
                C7
Do some sparkin' too
             F
How the hours fly
                   D7
As the moon drifts by --
             G7
How sweet the air As we stare At the sky
          F
Oh! How I love to linger here like this
                            D7      G7
Hold your hand, and steal a kiss Or two
       C7               F      (C7)
On the front porch with you

Repeat
