Milk and whisk(e)y has always been a good nightcap. Preferably warm milk. Or there's always Baileys and the various Baileys clones - whiskey, cream and honey and so forth.

People who get all reverential about (alcoholic) spirits seem to me to have hold of the wrong end of the stick. These are ingredients to be used in whatever way seems most appropriate at the time. Ingredients in life, and ingredients in food and drink as well.
