I dunno if there'll be black eyed peas or hoppin' john -- but I'll be bringing pickled herring in sour cream sauce. That's the tradition that I came out of. Gotta have herring.

Both Curmudgeon and I served apprenticeships (first marriages) to Southerners so we've had a number of years of black eyed peas, etc.
