Subject: RE: TAKE YOUR TIME (Peter Mundey)(not Wainwright)
Hi all, I just saw this and wanted to add a word: "In fact there is a nice little snippet on Tom & Barbara Brown's notes to tracks.

Another song from the singing of Mervin Vincent. The song was written by Pete Munday but, like The Deep River Boys "Little Lize", Dave Webbers "First of May" and many other songs, it was absorbed into the contemporary Cornish singing tradition. Barbara was given the song by Mervyn - deliberately - to be sung at Tom. Our daughters tend to leave the room when it is sung!

The Deep River Boys was my uncle's group, he was the original bass singer from 1936-1956. They recorded at least three versions of "Little Lize", with slightly changed lyrics, under the titles "Honey Honey" and "Honey Honey Honey." One can see a part of it in a soundies they made called "Hark, Hark, the Lark!" which is available on VHS and CD. They start off with "Honey Honey Honey", then segue into "Hark, Hark, the Lark!", then wind up with "Honey Honey Honey" again. It's cute and the singing is nice.
