The cell phone is a handy thing, but it can be abused and overdone. The thing to remember is this, though - you never know what another person's reason is for having a phone, or a beeper. When a device goes off at an inconvenient time, it's easy to think, "what an inconsiderate sod." But you don't know what's going on in that person's life, and they might have a good reason for having that instant-contact device.
