Let's see...if I really wanted to let someone know they might be infected with something, I'd tell them privately. You probably don't know what Jeff's e-mail address is though, so you had to have a public cow, saying 'please clean up your act', which doesn't actually suggest he ought to check, but assumes he IS infected. Then you back-peddle and try to claim "I posted this, on the off chance that Jeff is infected and doesn't KNOW it," which is a load. If you posted it for any reason other than to piss people off, I can't see the reasoning.

In my case, it worked, because of the 'last straw' syndrome. I shall go back to just thinking these things instead of sharing them with everyone. Sometimes, 'STFU' is the best possible advice for more than one person.

Bill, since the virus plugs in 'From' addresses from the same collected addresses it puts in the 'To' field, there's a very good chance Clinton's sending it to folks. I hope those people ask him privately instead of automatically assuming he really did it and accusing him in a public place. No, not really.

Frug, I think the soap opera idea is a great one. The only problem you'll run into is when somebody gets offended by your refusal to take the ridiculous stuff seriously, stomps their e-foot and informs you, "That is NOT FUNNY!" Then again, it would fit in just fine.
