Subject: RE: Tech: Using Mozilla
I've used Firefox for a few weeks now and think it's great, particularly the tabbed browsing. Sometimes websites I've never had any trouble with come up in strange shapes, though - writing and pictures overlapping, stuff like that. I suppose it's due to the websites not being programmed exactly to agreed standards, because Firefox is said to be more particular in that respect that Netscape or the dreaded IE. The one thing I find irksome is that you can't switch off Graphics and then press a button to get those for a particular page, as in Netscape. (You can for individual pictures, but they shows up on their own, not within the page.)

Thunderbird isn't bad either, but is still giving me a few problems, such as the big writing they use for the headings/folders which I haven't managed to reduce to something handier, or the fact that you can't (seemingly) put an eMail in 'Unsent Messages' and then call it up again to add something, like you can in Netscape. Also, I've tried twice to download their calendar but only get pages of jumbled letters, though some kind of download clearly takes place. What am I doing wrong?

Clearly, 2005 is a year for learning ... Happy New Year to you all!
