In the 1950s, in Melbourne, the night train from Adeliaide used to come in early every morning. When it passed through Mildura in the far North-West of Victoria it took on crates of oranges. In those days they weren't picked until they were really ripe and then only as needed. The main train station in Melbourne began selling freshly squeezed orange juice as soon as the oranges were unloaded. You could get this juice just a day after the oranges were picked.
