Thread Name: NOMAD--RIP?
Subject: NOMAD--RIP?
(Re the NOMAD Festival (New Haven, CT)

Is NOMAD History? Was this past NOMAD the final festival?

It is, and it was, unless YOU help!

NOMAD is an all-volunteer festival, from the organizers to the performers. The
2004 NOMAD festival was great, especially in our new location*. We recognize
and appreciate all the volunteers who have helped make NOMAD happen in the past;
we're grateful for that support. But it was not enough. More people need to be
involved throughout the year, or there will be no festival in 2005.

It takes an entire year to plan this festival; we start working on the next
NOMAD as soon as the last festival is over. The current committee members have
been doubling and tripling up on jobs; there are simply not enough people left
to put this festival on any longer. We need new committee members.

We're not kidding. IF WE CANNOT FILL ALL OPEN POSITIONS--AND GET BACKUPS--BY
FEBRUARY 14, NOMAD 2005 WILL NOT HAPPEN.

What do we need from you?
- To commit your time and energy for one full season.
- To fill the following jobs:
    - Festival Booklet Layout & Editing
    - Ad Sales
    - Hospitality
    - Publicity
    - Membership
    - Performers
    - Merchandise Sales
    - Program
    - Festival Registration
    - Parking
    - Volunteer Recruitment
    - Volunteer Scheduling
    - Sound Technicians
    - Set-up/Take-down

If you can help, please reply by e-mail to
bd-gold@comcast.net
Please include the positions you are interested in, by order of preference.

Your response--now--is literally the only thing that can save NOMAD 2005. Please
consider this carefully and thoughtfully and, if you can help, please respond
now. Don't wait.

Thank you, from the NOMAD 2005 Organizing Committee and from all future festival
attendees.
