The wonderful "doo-wop" version of Blue Moon, for which JennyO provided camplete lyrics back in August, is properly credited to the Marcells, who recorded it sometime in the late 1950's. (I'd guess '57 or '58, but I can't be sure.)

Sha Na Na were revivalists who covered a great many '50s classics a decade or so later, with a slightly condescending but basically good-natured "camp" attitude. Their dancing was probably more important to their act than their singing, and they did everything a little too fast.
