I've had a Takamine EN20 since the mid 1980s. The guitar was Takamine's response to the Martin lawsuit; the response was 'Ok, we'll build something better then...'. Let's not forget that Martin went through a bad patch around then, just like Gibson mandolins did in the 70s. The guitar is a plain looking Jumbo, Cedar top, mahogany back and sides, two piece saddle on the bridge, pretty beat up looking these days. Never let me down, powerful, ringing sound (I got asked to turn it down the other day, and realised I'd forgotten to plug it in!) Always stays in tune, never feeds back when plugged in. I'd describe it as a great working guitar, and I still haven't found an expensive box I'd swap for it (although there was that Rob Armstrong...)
