Thread Name: NOMAD--RIP?
Subject: RE: NOMAD--RIP?
Can someone involved in the "call for help" from NOMAD indicate which volunteer positions might be handled by people who live at a distance from New Haven, Connecticut. Based as I am in Rockland, Maine, I cannot attend planning meetings or be physically present for decisionmaking gatherings throughout the year. However, if some of the programming work could be done by e-mail, or if there are other jobs where a commitment "for one full season" could be accomplished without my physical presence, then I'd be happy to help a festival I've been part of for almost its entire life. (Regarding the commitment sought, I don't think we're talking about a few volunteer hours during the festival here, folks. My impression from talking with prior organizers is that they already have plenty of "day of" help--it's the long-haul truckers they're looking for.) This is really a wonderful festival, and it would be a great shame to see it fold.
