Alaska Mike: That's what I've heard, too, that Kodiak and grizzly are the same species. But I was surprised to see that the Como Park Zoo website identifies its bear as a Kodiak, not a grizzly, so I decided not to raise the issue. Maybe the web site was put up by volunteers who don't really know the facts. It's a small, low-budget zoo, so I wouldn't be surprised.
