there was a fellow...i think he may have bbeen a national geographic
photographer...he was mauled by a bear and had severe scars on his
face..and maybe other places, too. he often lived and worked in proximity to the bears...in teh 70's and 80's i think. A few years ago he was killed by a bear. he had some incredible pictures, though, and several students who he trained, too. I will look for more info. try
