I suspect the issue of strings is as personal and passionate as any other area where taste is the primary determining factor. That being said, I use D'Addario Bronze Light on my Guild dreadnought, whatever silk and steel set available on my old Epiphone (I like the gentle tone they give with the small body), and Dominant strings on my fiddle. Others will have their own favorites, but FWIW, this is what I've settled on for my playing.
