I couldn't figure out what your thread title was, so I opened it! I just loved that book. I especially enjoyed imagining the natural landscape of America as it was described...so many interesting trees, plants, shrubs, animals, and of course, mosquitos!

I seem to recall seeing a grizzly in a zoo but can't remember the zoo. It might have been either San Diego or St. Louis, or Detroit Zoo.
