The descriptions do take you away to places you've hiked and been yourself. I get more lost in their journals than I ever figured I would. Great reading. I'm glad I waited into my 60s before reading it though. If I'd read this at 25 I'd not've been enough places yet to have it mean as much personally for me. And it's nice to see that Lewis and Clark are two guys who spell even worse than I do.
