Thread Name: Best Guitar Strings?
Subject: RE: BS: Best Guitar Strings?
Right!
First of all the Washburn:
'60, '50, '40 '27 17, 17,
The Tak
'56 '47 '39 '25 '15 '13
The trusty Morris 9 string
2x11, 1x17,1x20, 2x27, 39. 47. 56
The Balladeer: (get this) '42 (steel), '39 (steel), '39 (steel), '25, (ph br), '17 and '13.
We could start getting into the Gibs and the Guilds, but I'm half shot and don't have time just at the minute; I've been told to get my walking shoes on, 'cos there's a session tommorrow.
BIG PLUG..... All the above are D'Addario, unless otherwise specified.
Donal Lunny always had a penchant for Picato. Up to the top of the class Jon.
Strings are as personal as the insides of your nose.
I change them before every gig.
When people ask me why I don't cut the tops off my strings, I say, honestly, that they don't stay on long enough for that kind of treatment. Very few people feel comfortable with my guitar(s) in their hands. Mostly it's because of the thickness of the strings.

This also has an effect on th old love life: "Be Careful" and " Take your finger picks off first please", and the like constantly ring in my ear.
Any left-handed, right thinkin' women out there?
