Iv been following the BBCs presentation of the Auschwitz documentary with interest. Most of it is based on the diaries of Rudolph Hoss and an autobiography written after his capture at the end of word war 2.
Forget about the censorship of nudity, which is unimportant.
I read the book containing his diaries and autobiography a few months ago, and his account has been severely censored and pieces used out of context. As most people on this forum know I have nothing but contempt for the Nazi regime and those who supported it, but its amazing to see history rewritten as in this documentary.
The writing of Hoss gives chilling look at Auschwitz and the "final solution" as seen through the eyes of the SS, and looking at the authoritarian regimes in place in America and to a lesser extent UK, it could all very easily happen again...Ake
