Nothing. I've been bitching about Bush for 10 years, since he was governor of Texas, where I happen to live right now. A "protest" is a waste of my time because it won't accomplish one single damned thing. I'll continue to bitch about Bush and to make lucid arguments as to why he is so wrong for this country. He doesn't "execute the office of President of the United States," he is slowly executing the U.S.
Along these lines, here's what a friend posted to a literary discussion list today:
read wendell berry's essay in Orion about how we know what's killing our earth, but corporate minds do it anyway.
i believe americans are really seriously losing the concept that food comes from earth. we are the most vulnerable people on this planet and are losing the knowledge and skills required to survive. can't eat a computer.
I'm waiting to get the exact citation back on this, but Orion is here.
Bush is definitely part of the problem, but we're letting him do it. So we have to stop being part of the problem, don't we?
I'm not saying this to be rude or flippant, but I'm just not impressed by this act of not shopping.
Not shopping.
Like, how can I make it a day without going to the mall.
I'll probably do some digging in my garden, the weather is supposed to be warmer tomorrow. I might just have to live off of that produce one of these days.
