This could be an interesting mystery, Debby Jo. I'm wondering if Voice of Portugal was first a person, and maybe later a radio show. A google search (click) for "voice of portugal" brings up information about Amalia Rodrigues queen of Lisbon's tragic fado music. Rodrigues died in 1999 at the age of 79.
The search also brought up mention of the radio program and of Kenny Hall's song. I'm guessing all three may be interrelated.
