Thread Name: BS: Oval days
Subject: BS: Oval days
I had the following from a friend today. I am sure that there's a fallacy somewhere, but can't for the life of me see where it is:-

To the delight of some we have been short on trivia recently, but I
thought that you'd all like to know anyway, and even be as little intrigued, that it's getting light more quickly in the evenings than in the mornings. Thus, this morning the sun rose at 8.35 [with twilight at 7.57] and will be at 8.27 in a week's time - a gain of only 8 minutes. BUT the sun set at 17.09 today and will do so at 17.21 in a week - a gain of 11 minutes.

Thus days, at least at the moment, are oval. See www.sunrisesunset.com

Another friend says that the days have become oval to celebrate the start of the international 6-Nations Rugby football series, quite funny I thought...

Enlightenment, please
