I talked elsewhere about being in a songwriting workshop, and before it got started, a guy who played African drums asked to borrow someone's guitar and played the most amazing fingerstyle stuff. He could only use the pads of his fingers because something about the calluses he had from drumming made it impossible to use the tips. The guy was Fode Sissoko. This guy is a real treat to be around. Great musician and someone who loves talking to people. Many of the other folks on the schedule are the same way, but Fode was unfamiliar to me before Old Songs (a couple of years ago, I think).

Peter, I'm game for it. I usually just have a small tent, and there are 4 small tent plots per square. I don't know who I'd go in with (you guys?), but if we arranged things right, there'd be room for a big tent-free jam-zone. Last year was pretty bad, location-wise, because Kendall & Jacqui and Peg were about as far away from everything as you can get. I went down a couple of times, but no one was home, and it was too friggin' far to walk to find nobody home!

To tell you the truth, I am getting REAL close to thinking about being a motel wimp or checking out how much it would cost to rent a motor home for the weekend. I also don't know how I would go about getting a license for a larger vehicle - the biggest thing I've ever driven is a deuce-and-a-half (2.5 ton truck).
