HEART OF THE LAND appears on Eric Bogle's album "Small Miracles," Greentrax CD #130, 1998. I found a couple of sound samples, from which I transcribed this:

He'll be up and workin' before the sunrise.
Here on the farm you don't work nine to five.

[CHORUS?] He's the heart of the land, this tired dusty man,
Though he'd laugh if you said so, claim to be nothin' grand,
Just a battler survivin' as best as he can,
But this land's in his heart and he's the heart of this land.

And he thinks of the deed (?) and the work that's been done...
