Thread Name: Best Guitar Strings?
Subject: RE: BS: Best Guitar Strings?
Terrific point by Michael Miland. The Newtone Masterclass are the kind of "in string" right now (and the price reflects it) 'cause they're made by a former metalurgist in England, and some heavies are using them. But...But.. the king of Cynics, (your truly) tried them and got hooked! 'Bout a month later I found that they sound marvellous and play very easily on my dreadnought, but on my little o-18 I'm back to Darco lights. Best strings I've ever tried? Adamas lights. Then they started to break consistantly and I was back to Darco.
For several years I got my strings packaged and sent from "Joestrings" in Connecticut. I used a 68 silk and steel on the bass of my twelve string, cause I tune really low, and they'd make up a custom set cheaply. They got em from La Bella. Guess who's private stock the "68" came from? They had almost a hundred for him if needed. No prizes for the right answer, but hearty congratulations.
