I live near Carlisle, and I agree it's quite moving seeing the affected parts of town. Everybody seems to know someone who's been flooded. Friends of mine have been taken in by relatives, but are hoping to find somewhere to rent. They have been told they cannot move back in for six months, the council has wavered council tax on flooded homes but they will still have to find rent money and continue paying their mortgage. Things are even worse for those who couldn't afford insurance, they are in big trouble.
