30 years ago, a guy I knew sang a song, using a 12-string guitar about the snake tempting Adam & Eve...sort of 'blusey' style...don't know if it was trad, or from some TV show...barely understood what 'trad' was, then...

anyway...it started:

"Adam & Eve Was in the Garden, everything was Jake..
"When a creature did come up, sayin' "My name is....Snake"

and it had a 'refrain'/chorus line which kept changing...like
..."go ahead and bite it, bet you'd be delighted" and
..."go ahead and taste it...you don't wanta waste it.."

does anyone know the song? For that matter does anyone know the singer?..He was a short, red-headed, square-built guy named Gene Vermillion...and he could really play the 12-string....*sigh*, where DO the years go?
