Thread Name: Ground breaking bands?
Subject: RE: Ground breaking bands?
The Undertakers hey! I remember them. Saw them at the Cavern a few times and at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall. So good! The had a sax, a bit rare, Brian Jones I believe, great, great band. Was the bass player Jackie Lomax? I think he went solo but didn't get far.

Another band of the same era, Derry Wilkie and the Pressmen, 2 saxes and a black singer they were groung breaking for Liverpool and England for 1963 but making music that clearly grew out of 50's US.

I found those bands very exciting but went on to find the Dubliners, the Watersons and all sorts of other people, especialy 'Folk Rock'.

Currently realy enjoying Whapweasel, hence the search for bands that are doing something a bit different.

Thanks to all above and I trust below.
