As a journalist I've met many celebrities, interviewed a bunch more by phone and, to a man, and woman, all have been at least cordial, including the famously prickly Uta Hagen (in person) and the aforementioned Billy Crystal (by phone).
    Most obnoxoious, and it may not have been her fault, was Olympia Dukakis. She was going to perform in my city and her representative said (by e-mail) that Ms. Dukakis was far too busy to speak to the likes of me but would answer written questions. I replied that Ms. Dukakis could go bag her ass, though I expressed it more politely.
