There were purple jacarandas in bloom along the avenida in Buenos Aires, and the sweeping jangle of tango guitars could almost be heard in the Borgesian night. In the Hotel Intercontinental, beside two Japanese businessmen and their sweating local partner carving up the Paraguayan market in cameras ("the border is the place, the cheapest cameras in the world, it is, how they say in English, rotten"), Andres and I exchange bootleg CDs, destined to overthrow several countries. We smile, and talk about other things, but Rick Fielding´s album is injected into the vida loca....Alas, as Andres reported, we have had onl y a few minutes together, but we agreed that Mudcat is a unique community of loca vidas.
