Thread Name: Favorite Limerick [2]
Subject: RE: Favorite Limerick
Davey -- You posted a variant of a favorite limerick that I first heard attributed to Allan Block, fiddler, poet, and sandal-maker long of New York City and now of New Hampshire. The way I heard it was:

There once was a man named McGurkin,
Whose gherkin he always was jerkin'.
Said his wife to McGurkin, "Quit jerkin' your gherkin,
You're shirkin' your firkin, McGurkin."

My other favorite, which is actually clean, is:

There was a young lady from Dole,
Whose wit was exceedingly droll,
She went to a ball dressed in nothing at all,
And backed in, as a Parker House roll.
