For pure esthetic wonder, nothing can beat the tail of a 1960 Edsel:
two Mercury tailight lenses stood on end on each side, the ends sticking up past the Ford fin shape; then two tin ridges added to cover the misfit. An absolutley incomprehensible styling decision.
