There is a lot of blues in Portsmouth N.H. Check the Muddy River Smoke House. If you can make it through the winter, Portsmouth also has a great blues festival every August.

Just across the border in Newburyport, MA The Grog/ has a blues jam every Sunday evening and mostly blues Fri. & Sat.

My favorite Boston Area blues band is Barrence Whitfield and the Savages. In Massachusetts North of Boston look for The Megawatt Blues Crushers or Fly Amero.
