Thread Name: BS: The most obnoxious famous I've met
Subject: RE: BS: The most obnoxious famous I've met
The most obnoxious "famous" person I've ever met was country singer Trisha Yearwood...several years ago, when I was still running a group home for mentally handicapped folks, she was appearing at a local Target dept. store, hawking her own "signature" perfume (this would've been about 12 years ago)...my guys were big fans and wanted to go and get her autograph, so off we went.

After standing in line for 3 hours, on their very best behavior, they finally got up to her...T.C. (I'll just use initials...confidentiality) asked if he could give her a hug, and in a loud, clear voice, she said, "Get this G--D----- RETARD away from me!"...the pain in their eyes was crushing!

Contrast this with the late great Waylon Jennings...about 3 months later, he and his lovely wife, singer Jessie Colter, were appearing nearby and I took the guys to see them...when T.C. asked if he could give them a hug, Jennings looked him in the eye and said, "Hoss...I'd be heart-broken if you didn't!". Then, after posing for about 2 dozen pictures, he went up on stage and did the coolest thing...he announced, "I'm gonna do this for some new friends that came out to see me tonight...this is for you T.C., J.J., M.K., R.S., and your friend Terry"...and then he did "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line".

He was truly a classy guy!
