I haven't been on Mudcat for a few days and upon revisiting this thread, I believe I was wrong in posting the incident about Cathie Ryan. It may very well have been an isolated occurrence, not indicative of her character at all. Any number of factors may have lead up to this - a long drive, frayed nerves, etc. And it is also true that the festival itself was not very well run and that they didn't have the right equipment available. As others have pointed out, we all have our bad days and one incident of "edginess" does not make someone "obnoxious". So I truly apologize and would hope that no damage has been done. As has been pointed out, she has a beautiful voice and is a great performer and I'm sure judging from Ron and Big Mick's assessments (who actually know her as opposed to myself, who only saw her once) she is also a nice person.
