It would be difficult to overrate Bob Dylan. It would also be difficult to overrate the Beatles, when it came to great chording, terrific harmonies, and a joyful sound. Dylan admired the Beatles. They admired him. Specially Harrison and Lennon did.
Were they overly hyped by the industry? Yeah! So was Elvis. That's the way the industry works when someone really effective comes along. The Beatles were a hell of a good band after their lengthy stay in Hamburg, Germany.
