Get special insurance for your guitar, ship it UPS, or buy it a seat beside you. If not affordable, then borrow. I am sure your instrument is worth much more than the pathetic coverage offered by the airlines, and the case duct-taped with foam is a challenge to the angry handler. Maybe we should form a co-operative airline exclusively for those travelling with instruments or fragile sports equipment,(they've been known to mangle a nice bike or two also.)
