The Folk Club at the Forresters Arms, Broseley, Shropshire has really taken off over the past couple of months.

We had been ticking along for about a year, but recently we have had the company of the folk from Kidderminster area. Its a long haul for them, but their singing is much appreciated.

We meet in the wooden room in the back yard of the pub. It was originally the recruitment hut for the farm labourers being taken on for harvesting in the early years of the 20th C. It was used for dances for the estate workers. I am assured that its accoustics are excellent.

It was great to see half a dozen visitors on Sunday morning at the Birchmeadow for the practice session. It was nice to have a mix of Irish and Morris tunes taken at a steady pace and repeated a number of times for the learning process.

The Folk Club meets this evening (Tuesday) about 8.30pm.
