I remember in the 60s in my student days we sang a different chorus, and put actions to it:

Old McDonald had a farm,

And on that farm he had some bulls,

And the bulls were bulling it here
And the bulls were bulling it there
Bulling it here, bulling it there
Bulling it everywhere
Old McDonald had a farm,
E-i ei o.

continued with cows were cowing it here, rams were ramming it here, etc.
