I just read a good suggestion on cleaning bowhairs: use compressed air. This avoids the risk of getting a mild soap solution or alcohol on the wood part of the bow. However, I prefer to moderate my use of rosin. If I've apllied too much, I can see it on the strings or fingerboard. I clean it off with a dry cloth and avoid rosining the bow for a while.
