I believe this to be very positive, but I suspect for different reasons than Doug. I believe the leadership of the party needs its hinges rattled. While I don't wish for the utter destruction that our northern Guest does, I believe there is validity in the thought that many have lost sight of what it takes to win. I believe Dr. Dean acquitted himself well, certainly showed how to get back in touch with a grassroots eonstituency, and demonstrated remarkable alternate fundraising. These are great attributes. Sometimes power structures don't realize that they have become controllers only of losing organizations. The Democratic message, if we can strip away the layers of some self interests, is vibrant. I think we saw that with the Presidential race. We had a candidate who had a hard time connecting, a war time President, yet the outcome was closer than for any incumbent President.
