I was stood fascinated in the Darlington branch of Wilkinson's, while my wife looked at things she wasn't going to buy, when on the usually ignorable muzak came a Aretha Franklinish slowish song with "Whatever I choose I lose" or something in the chorus. It's no good asking the staff because they say "head Office send the cds and all we do is play them" or somesuch.
