I want to buy my sister and brother-in-law a modem, and connect them to the Internet, as a Chistmas present.

They use a fairly old (4 years?) Mac. Whilst I use, know and understand Windows very well, I know very little about Macs.

I have a few technical queries.

I'm posting this message in the hope of finding a Mac expert who would be kind enough to give me some advice via email (I don't think the discussion would be appropriate for this group)as I try to understand how I can give a Christmas present that actually works.
